Bargur Cattle

Bargur cattle are employed as a draught animal in their location and are raised for both milk production.

The Bargur cattle are a breed of dairy cattle native to the Bargur area of Bargur woods slopes and Krishnagiri district in Anthiyur Taluk of Erode District at Western Tamil Nadu in India. They’re also used for purposes in their locations.

Bargur Cattle Characteristics

Bargur cattle are construct body. They are of color with white spots. Though brown complexions and white are also found. Both bulls and cows have horns. The Bargur cows are great for milk production. Their milk is also known to have medicinal value. Milk production of these cows ranges from 250 to 1300 kg per lactation.

The Bargur cattle are maintained in control system and they’re raised in forest place in states and placed in enclosures known as ‘Pattys’ . The strain is increased as a draught animal in the native place of it, and great for milk production.
