The Cayuga snowball is a medium-sized breed of domesticated duck, arising from the USA. It was created and has been a really common breed.

A long history is concerning the breed’s development. However, it’s thought that the Cayuga snowball was designed by a cross between Black East Indies duck along with the duck that was Rouen.

Now the breed is a really common duck breed from the USA and they’re primarily employed for eggs and meat production, in addition to a decorative bird.

The Cayuga duck breed initially came in the Uk in 1851, Once the breed was revealed in the Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace. Plus the British Standard in 1907 recognized it.

However, was realized from the American Standard. Cayuga duck was admitted into the Standard of Perfection of the American Poultry Association in 1874.

The Cayuga duck is a great medium-sized snowball strain. It’s readily characterized by it has a black bill and dark plumage, and it can be an iridescent beetle green sheen in the right light. The females will find a few spots of white in their own feathers.

The ducks are extremely great to see in sunlight. These Cayuga ducks’ legs and beak are all black. They carry themselves vertical with a very long neck.

On average a Cayuga duck could put about 100 to 150 big eggs each year. Their eggs are black or dark gray in color. But egg color stinks white at the season’s conclusion.

The drakes are usually mute, however, the ducks are rather vocal. The ducks are broody and frequently sit and scatter their eggs.

The incubation period for your Cayuga duck’s eggs is 28 days. The lifespan will be 8 to 12 years.
