This chicken strain was shown in the United States. And in the same year that this breed was included in the American Poultry Association’s Standard of Perfection.

Cubalaya Chickens are extremely beautiful. It is a poultry breed with earlobes that are red, pea combs and wattles.

They are extremely heat tolerant. Cubalaya takes around three years for reaching maturity and is a strain that is slow-growing.

On the hen, there is a difference between the color of the plumage around the neck and head region and the rest of the human body. And also their tail is curved down, on both the hens and roosters.

The curved tail is known as a ‘lobster tail’. They have short legs.

Cubalaya Chicken is a strain that is very lively, hardy and striking. In confinement, this breed also does not succeed like most wild breeds.

Hens are not one of the layers but lay a pretty great number of eggs. Hens tend to go broody and they lay medium-sized light brown colored eggs.

They are foragers. They’re noisy but are somewhat less aggressive compared to most other game breeds.

On average, regular size Cubalaya hens weigh about 1.59 kg and roosters weigh about 2.4 kg.

Along with the bantam roosters weight about 740 grams and hens approximately 625 grams.
