Highland Cattle Characteristics

The Highland cows are a strain of beef cattle breed. The breed derives from Scotland’s cows and it’s known for the Highland area. Even though the history of this breed isn’t well listed, it had been standardized and improved throughout the 1800s.

The Highland cows became known in England and they had been occasionally known as cows. They were imported to North America from the 1880s and importations have lasted during the 1900s. The Highland cows are located throughout North America in addition to in Europe, Australia, and South America.
