History

They’ve stripes and facial stains . Pfaven or All these stripes gave the name of it to the strain . However, because of a spelling mistake of a journalist that the breed was called the Peacock goat.
That this strain was reported by that journalist rather than Pfavenziege goat that was striped, because of Pfauenziege peacock goat.
The Peacock goat can also be called by a few other titles like the Gray-black goat, the Gray-black-white goat, Razza Naz, Colomba along Pfauenziege at German.
Farmers of Switzerland are increasing quantities of Peacock goats for decades. However, the strain was not recognized until 1992.
Peacock goat herd book was created. The Peacock Goat Breeding Association has been set up in 1989. An interest was set in 1992, and in Switzerland a puppy marriage was set in 1993.
An institution was founded in 1994 from the canton Beru, and also much more recently also is present in Graubünden (based on the Department of Animal Science, Oklahoma State University).
