The Polish Red cows are a rare strain of dual-purpose cows and among the oldest cattle strains in Europe. The Red cattle are indigenous to Poland as its name implies.
They had been created from the late 19th century following reddish cows from Germany, Denmark and Sweden were utilized for enhancing the various regional breeds of reddish Polish cows.
That mix caused the Red cattle breed’s form. Along with there was also a herdbook created for the strain in 1895.
A program to the conservation of its genetic resources of Polish Red cows has been launched in 1999 for shielding the breed from extinction.
Now the National Research Institute of Animal Production coordinates the plan. The breed is rare Now.

Polish Red cows are moderate-sized creatures with coloration which range from reddish to dark reddish. They have nostrils and claws and horns.
