Ponwar Cattle Characteristics

The Ponwar cows are a draught strain of cows from North India.

It’s a cows breed that is proven to be originated in India at Puranpur Taluk at Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh state in Ponwar.

The Ponwar cows breed is called after the location of its origin. It’s not accessible through the adjacent locations of India.

It’s limited to the tiny region adjacent Ponwar. The cows breed is also called “Purnea”.

Ponwar Cattle Characteristics

Ponwar cows are modest-sized creatures with a streamlined body.

They are in the color of white and black. They have regular markers on limbs the brow and dewlap.

Both cows and bulls have horns, and their horns are so upstanding very long and lyre-shaped. Ponwar cows have large eyes slender and little face and ears.

Their sheath is tight and short, the barrel is extended, the neck is short and strong and also their dewlap is thin and light.

The cows have a comparatively modest hump, but the bulls have a well-developed hump.

They have tails that are long and the cows have udders that are little and poorly constructed.

Body elevation of the bulls is 109 cm for those cows, and roughly 116 cm in wither.

Ponwar Cattle Uses

The Ponwar cows are extremely powerful and hardy creatures. It is a strain of cows and used for drawing carts in the native location of it.

Ponwar cows are proven to be quite busy and therefore so are of a fiery character.

They’re excellent foragers and perform under grazing conditions that are complimentary. The bullocks are great for draft purposes, although they have a tendency to grow slowly.

The cows are not milk producers.

They proceed in groups placing their heads in between every other that’s a strange behavior which has emerged because of fear by predators.
