History
The Red Poll cows breed is the consequence of the Norfolk Red beef cattle breeds as well as a combination of Suffolk Dun dairy cows.
The Norfolk cows breed had been horns, although the Suffolk breed, that was utilized for growing this strain was polled. Along with also the receptor for horns at the Norfolk, cows were phased out from the Red Poll cows.
The name of the breed has been ‘Suffolk and Norfolk Red Polled’ cows, and also the herd publication surfaced from the entire year of 1874.
The strain was called’Red Polled’ then eventually ‘Red Poll’ in 1888. Along with the Red, Poll Cattle Society has been made in 1888.

The Red Poll cows were introduced into the USA in 1873 from G. P. Taber of New York State. Along with the strain was brought to New Zealand from the year 1898.
But in New Zealand, there was a herd not launched before 1917.
