The Sayaguesa cows are an early, aurochs-like strain of cows that are traditionally used as draft and working animals.
It’s also known as Zamorano cattle along with the strain is derived from the autonomous community of León and Castile from Sayago from the state of Zamora.
The Sayaguesa cows are a really rare breed now and now there are just a few animals. Along with the strain is listed as threatened as 1997.
Their numbers are falling and there are reasons for this. Largely the farmers mix them or frequently don’t use them. Because breeds similar to this have a cost rentability.
This contributes there left a couple of phenotypes.
