Shiraz Tumbler pigeon is raised for decorative and exhibition purposes. The Shiraz Tumbler pigeon is a flying breed of national pigeon from Iran. It is originally from Shiraz in south Iran.
The strain is also known by some other titles such as Afghani Shirazi pigeon, Shakhsharli Tumblers, Shirazi, Shaik, Saksarli, and ‘lahouri’ or ‘domgir’ (in Isfahan).
The meaning of the word’Shakhsharli’ is”overdressed with beauty”, and the strain was named so largely due to their natural beauty. It is believed that the Shiraz Tumbler pigeon is one of a kind and among the most amazing pigeon breeds. And it’s also among the most magnificent pigeon breeds available today.

Shiraz Tumbler pigeon or the Shakhsharli is a breed. It comes in four common or original colors: yellow, blue, red and black. Though some other colors such as ash crimson and yellow, bronze, black and dun, silver and blue, cream bar, red bar, and sulfur have also been bred. In comparison to other pigeon breeds, these critters possess many feathers.
By way of example, the 3 patches of color in their head. One patch on two at each cheek, and the surface of the head. The patch on top of the head is called a ‘skull area’, along with the other two is called ‘cheek patches’.
