It’s also known by a few other titles like Cravate Turbit, Turbitmövchen, and Turbito. The title, in connection to the bird’s shape, is derived from “turbo“, a Latin term meaning “spinning top“. The timing of the production of it is unknown, but it was designed from the seventeenth or eighteenth century.

It was developed over several years of selective breeding. It’s thought that the strain is the consequence of the cross-mating of Anatolian Owl with Display Antwerp.

Turbit Pigeon Characteristics
