It’s dispersed throughout Switzerland and in areas of northern Italy and Austria, and has been exported to different nations including France.
There are two kinds of Chamois :
- A horned form from the Grisons or Graubünden from the eastern part of the country.
- A hornless form from the Brienz of Oberhasli along with the Region of Brienz and Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland in central Switzerland.
