Vechur Cattle Characteristics

The Vechur cattle are a bigger sized and indigenous Indian strain of Bos indicus cows. The strain has been named after the village Vechoor in the area of the Kerala state.

According to the Guinness Book of Records, the Vechur cattle breed would be the cows breed on earth. The breed appreciated and is well known in contrast to the sum of food that it needs.

Also a Professor of Genetics and Animal breeding, sosamma Iype because of conservation efforts saved the breed and a group of her pupil.

There has been A conservation device launched from the year of 1989. In 1998, there had been a conservation trust made to carry on the work.

Vechur Cattle Characteristics

Vechur cattle will be the tiniest of cattle breeds on the planet. Their color may be any and change.

The two bulls and cows have horns that are curved and little backward.

The elevation of this Vechur cattle is approximately 90 cm.

As well as their own entire body weight is about 130 kg.

Though the Vechur cattle are modest in proportion, they’re quite great for milk production.

The Vechur cattle are lively and powerful animals. The cows are milk manufacturers. They need less nourishment, maintenance, and upkeep.

Milk of these Vechur cows is thought to possess medicinal properties, and milk is not difficult to digest size.

The bulls are employed to get work, and powerful in comparison with their body size.

Origin

The breed is originated in a village Vechoor at the area of the Kerala state.

The Vechur cattle became infrequent when the indigenous creatures were crossbred with exotic creatures.

Along with the strain has been popular in Kerala. It had been recorded on the World Watch List of National Animal Diversity in 2000 of the FAO, also in it is ‘Critical-Maintained Breeds List’. As strains are contained in the listing once the number of breeding cows and bulls drops into low amounts, the strain was recorded pointing to extinction.

There are approximately 200 cows that should exist. And the majority of these (almost 100) are at the College.
